Leaf Cutter 3 Pod Setup with Heating Box - 2024 Version

This is our 2024 full single fungus pod leaf cutter setup! This price is discounted by 5% compared to purchasing the products individually.

The large items in the setup are now flat-pack (with detailed instructions) meaning we are now able to ship this easily with the UK so UK customers should be able to select shipping at checkout. International customers, please contact us for a shipping quote.

We have been developing this setup since 2021 and our own Leaf Cutter colony, Acromyrmex Octospinosus thrived in it and have moved into a larger setup.

It allows for optimal temperature control for the fungus chamber all year round. Included heat cables provide heat when the temperature is below 24-25°c. Ventilation holes in the heating box and an optional 40mm USB fan allow for cool air to be blown in when needed during hot Summer days (you will need air conditioning in the room they are kept in to provide the cool air). Included Bluetooth temperature and moisture monitors keep you in the loop at all times.

The full setup with the pods side by side will be about 1.2m as a minimum. We had it at about 1.4m on an Ikea Kallax unit.

Please remember these colonies can grow large, so you must have expansion plans in place. We also have a Quad Heating box with enough room for 4 of our fungus pods which is also available to ship. This will also be flat-pack with detailed instructions provided.

Optional Extras

These optional extras are how we have the setup working, but they might not be needed for everyone.

• 3x 40mm USB Fans. One for continually circulating the air in the heating box, another for adding cool air into the feeding pod to reduce condensation and another to add cooler air into the heating box if needed for cooling
• Thermostat for maintaining the temperature in the heating box and fungus chamber in turn
• Fan mount for a 40mm fan and an air deflector to stop the air blowing directly into the fungus chamber
• 4 Port USB Switch for easy turning on and off of fans
